Christian Haven began as an act of love when Mrs. Joseph Oliver donated the property at Pennoyer Avenue and Seventh Street in the city of Grand Haven to be a Home for the Aged in honor of her late husband, Mr. Schupe. Today, acts of love continue on a daily basis as residents, staff, volunteers, and families share their lives. After spending time here, it becomes apparent that Christian Haven is a special place to live and to work.
Christian Haven opened it's doors in 1961. It was founded by area
Reformed and Christian Reformed Churches; however, our residents today come from a variety of churches and those of all faiths are welcome.
With 52 rooms, we offer the choice of three different room options. Choices include a two room suite with private bathroom, a studio with private bathroom, and a studio with a shared commode. Double occupancy is available for married couples at an additional charge. We'll provide a bed, dresser, and nightstand. Or, if you prefer, you may bring your own. We encourage you to bring personal belongings that will make it feel like home.
Christian Haven is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We are governed by a Board of Directors, appointed by our founding churches.
Our Board Members are:
Tom VanderLee, President
Richard Briegel, Vice President
